Missions

We are a Christ-centered, mission-oriented, growing church. Listed on this website are opportunities for members and non-members to join in sharing God’s love and the Gospel. Please contact the church office at kechiumc@sbcglobal.net or 744-1221 or contact any of the coordinators for more information or if you would like to be a part of any of our ministries.

Our purpose is to make a Christian difference through our participation in Hands-on mission activities. We participate not just to complete a task such as feeding the hungry, painting a house, visiting shut-ins, rebuilding after disasters, or assisting a family in need. We have a higher purpose, which is to honor God, share Christian love, and enjoy God’s wonderful people.

What does the Bible tell us?

As we read from I John 3:18 "Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." The poor of the world have had many things promised to them, but by following this bible verse we are putting our faith into action.

We also follow this Bible verse to give others the joy of receiving Christ’s saving grace. "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matt. 28:19-20

Has the Lord called you to “…. Love your neighbor as yourself” Matt. 22:39? And you’re wondering how can I do this? Here at Kechi United Methodist Church there are many opportunities if you have the time. Whether you have a free afternoon, a week’s vacation, just out of college, retired, or between jobs, there are opportunities for you to answer God’s call to both physically and spiritually help our neighbors. You can expect to touch the lives of people locally and around the world and enrich your own life while sharing the love of Christ.
